
Paul, a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and The institute of Interim Management has held senior procurement and supply chain positions in both manufacturing and service industries. His career in manufacturing commenced in procurement, where he worked within a variety of industries including engineering and electronics.
In the mid 1980"s he was responsible for implementing practices that are now considered the norm in efficient supply chains. JIT supply, reducing the supplier base, measuring both supplier and departmental performance, introducing supplier partnerships, and passing the responsibility for quality back to the supplier.
He then broadened his experience working within the consumer electronics repair industry, initially as head of procurement and sales administration, but latterly as supply chain head for a number of companies.
In 1992 Paul left the corporate world to become an established and successful interim manager, and since 1993 his assignments, ranging from one to 15 months in duration, have included:
Project managing the re-location of a spares operation for an electronics company;
Managing the multi site UK warehousing and distribution of a global health care company;
Setting up a logistics function encompassing purchasing, business planning and warehousing for a global hair care organisation;
Managing the logistics function for 2 first tier automotive suppliers; and turning around a failing DC in Poland.
